We purchased our little farmhouse in 2016 knowing it needed a full-scale renovation, but the view from our hill is what made us fall in love. Never mind the dingy bathrooms, falling-off-the-hinges kitchen cabinets or the lack of any foliage in the front yard... we would fix all that and more. And so we did, and The Fischer Upper was born! Our little cow town of just 51 in NW Oklahoma has my entire heart. I love sharing our life here with you and creating easy recipes I hope will grace your table and warm the bellies of those you love. So, what can you expect around these parts? Besides a peek into our farm life on the hill, I'll share scratch made recipes like old fashioned beef and noodles, easy prawn risotto and a 5 ingredient orange chicken recipe you'll just swoon over. And that, my friends, is just the tippy top of the iceberg lettuce! I'll add new recipes each week, so check back often for what's simmering on the stove.

If I'm not in the kitchen, you'll likely find me in the Oklahoma breeze tending to our farm garden. I'll share all about how to grow brussels sprouts, how to plant peony roots, what the best potato companion plants are, proper cucumber plant spacing, and the list goes on. if you're a city slicker, fear not. I will also include information in every gardening post on how you can adapt for urban gardening. I always have your back around here.

And of course, I can't leave out the Fischer Upper itself! I'll share all about how we found this little hilltop farmhouse for sale and the process of giving it the new life it so deserved. I'll take you through the entire renovation process room-by-room and show you how cozy and wonderful it is now.
