NO KNEAD CRUSTY DUTCH OVEN BREAD

A favorite bread recipe that is crunchy, chewy, and soft in the middle.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all purpose flour and more for dusting
  • 2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ c warm water about 110 degrees

Instructions

DIRECTIONS

  • Whisk flour, salt and yeast in a large bowl until combined.
  • Add water and stir with a wooden spoon.
  • The dough will be very sticky and shaggy.
  • Cover with Press n Seal and let sit 8-18 hours.
  • When ready to bake, preheat oven to 450.
  • Place empty Dutch oven inside to heat through for 30 minutes.
  • While oven preheats, uncover and punch down dough.
  • Lay out a large sheet of parchment paper sprinkled liberally with flour.
  • Turn dough out into parchment and quickly shape into a ball using floured hands.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and allow to rest for 30 minutes while your Dutch oven preheats.
  • Remove plastic wrap and place parchment sheet with dough on top down into Dutch oven.
  • Cover and bake for 45 minutes.
  • Uncover and bake another 10 to brown the top.
